A new way to look at failure

Last year at my nephew’s graduation from high school, the motivational speaker said something I never expected to hear at a high school graduation.  Her advice to these newly graduated souls was to:  “fail.”  Yes, that’s right!  What?  I thought as I listened with intrigue.  She went on to say that we’re all so afraid of failure and we avoid it like we do the plague, yet its in those moments of “failure” that we can become better.  Without them, our skill isn’t sharpened, our expertise not expertise.  And the truth is we all fail, so instead of seeing it as a setback, let’s rephrase how we think of it as an OPPORTUNITY instead.  Read on and be encouraged!
